1. Read the M-41 handbook and work by the contract.
2. Meet your shop steward. They are able to answer questions and help with problems.
3. If you cannot resolve your issues at the station and need more help call 527-2226 and speak with an officer.
4. Always work to minimize safety hazards.
5. Never finger mail while going up or down stairs or while crossing streets.
6. Only scan parcels, small packages and accountable items when you are at the delivery point.
7. Familiarize yourself with the 3996 form and learn the proper reasons to request one.
8. If instructed to bring back mail, be sure to fill out a PS form 1571 and have it signed by your supervisor. BE SURE TO KEEP A COPY.
9. STICK WITH IT! You will be working long hours in all kinds of conditions. It does become easier with time!
